Recruitment & Training

Since honesty, integrity, reliability and smart work guide everything we do, LGFS recruits manpower in line with Rule 10 of the Private Security Agencies (Regulation) Act, 2005. From a large database of candidates we filter only quality applicants and conduct two to three rounds of interviews matched to the job description of each client.

Our recruitment process screens prospective candidates for character, antecedents, aptitude and attitude before they are brought under our training schedule and disciplinary systems. Everyone does not qualify to be an LGFS guarding officer or professional — we select only individuals who meet the standards of our guarding services and can fulfil the quality expectations of our clients.

Training Infrastructure

We have jointly established a training school in Bhubaneswar manned by experienced officers and instructors, imparting effective security training to newly recruited guards through a full-fledged training academy. The academy prepares every incumbent with the skills needed for smartness, day and night vigil, intruder identification, emergency management, fire prevention and, above all, the soft skills that shape them into smart, tough yet sensible professionals. Our qualified staff also conduct periodic on-site training at client locations so deployed personnel fully understand their duties and areas of responsibility.

Minimum Training Standards

All guarding personnel must complete a minimum of one hundred hours of classroom instruction and sixty hours of field training, spread over at least twenty working days. Ex-servicemen and former police and paramilitary personnel attend a condensed course of a minimum of forty hours of classroom instruction and sixteen hours of field training, spread over at least seven working days, as permitted under the rules.

Training Subjects (as per Section 5, Private Security Agency Rules, 2009)

• Conduct in public and correct wearing of uniforms
• Physical fitness training
• Physical security of assets, buildings, apartments, personnel and households
• Firefighting
• Crowd control
• Examining identification papers, including identity cards, passports and smart cards
• Reading English alphabets and Arabic numerals in identification documents, arms licences, travel documents and security inspection sheets
• Identification of improvised explosive devices
• First aid
• Crisis response and disaster management
• Defensive driving (compulsory for drivers of armoured vehicles, optional for others)
• Handling and operation of non-prohibited weapons and firearms (optional)
• Badges of rank in police and military forces
• Identification of security alarms and screening equipment
• Leadership and management (for supervisors)
